Invozo exists for adults who work for themselves, by their own choice, where that work is legal. Everything on this page follows from that sentence.
01Who may hold an account
- An adult, verified with a government ID and a live selfie.
- Working on their own account: they set their own prices, choose their own clients and keep their own money.
- Registered for their work and for tax as the law of their country asks.
- Paid to a bank account in their own name.
02Never allowed
- An account opened, controlled or used by someone other than the person it belongs to.
- A payout to any other person or company: a partner, a relative, a landlord, a venue, an agency, a driver, a “manager”.
- Any use of Invozo by or for a person under 18.
- Any use by or for a person who is forced, threatened, deceived, in debt bondage, or not free to stop.
- Payments for anything that is against the law in the place where it is provided.
- Payments for work in a country or region where Invozo is not open, including Northern Ireland.
- Payments that are not for your own services: goods, loans, other people’s bookings, or money moved for someone else.
- Paying your own link with your own card, or asking someone to do it, to turn card credit into cash.
- Splitting one payment into several links to get around a limit.
- A false note on a payment request, or a false statement to a client’s bank.
- More than one account for the same person.
03What we check
We verify identity and age before the first payout and again when a document expires. We check names against international sanctions lists. We look at how accounts behave: several accounts using the same device, phone number or bank account; a request to change the payout account to another name; messages that seem to be written by someone else; a person who cannot reach their own money.
04What we do when something is wrong
We freeze the account and the money in it. We ask the account holder, directly and privately, what is happening. Where the law obliges us, or where we believe a person is being exploited, we report to the competent authorities and we cooperate with them. We do not warn the person we suspect of controlling the account.
An account closed for a breach of this policy is not reopened.
05If you need help
If someone is taking your money, holding your documents or deciding for you, you can tell us in confidence at [e-mail address to be completed] or on WhatsApp. We will not contact anyone else about it without asking you first, unless the law obliges us to. If you are in danger now, call the police: 112 in the European Union, 999 in the United Kingdom.
06Money-laundering rules
We keep records of every payment and payout for as long as anti-money-laundering law requires. We may ask a question about a payment that looks unusual. If we cannot get a clear answer, we may refuse the payment or return it to the card it came from.
